Deactivate vs Delete: What’s the difference?
| Deactivate | Delete |
|---|---|
| Temporary. Your profile is hidden; you can come back anytime. | Permanent. After a grace period, your data is removed and can’t be recovered. |
| Messenger may still work unless you disable it separately. | Messenger is deleted; you can’t use it with this account. |
How to reactivate later
Simply log back in with your email/phone and password. Your account will be restored unless you requested deletion.
